This is my favorite step. I experience the power of this everyday. This action doesn’t involve anyone, this is exclusively your effort to cultivate positive attitude. In most cases, negative attitude is the result of failures. A person makes an attempt and fails, when this continuously happens, his hopes die and eventually becomes a pessimist, thus cultivating negative attitude towards everything. If a person is failing constantly, it could be a result of bad planning, bad decision making or procrastination. One thing which is most common among many is procrastination. Try the following steps to avoid procrastination.

5 seconds or less trick

It takes 5 seconds or less to eliminate, if you can resist your temptation of not working for 5 seconds, then you can easily cultivate the habit of ACT NOW. When you come home, instead of throwing your clothes on bed or chair, take additional 5 seconds and hang it in a proper place. Try this trick every time you face the resistance and feel like not working.

Moving Target

Stop setting moving targets, instead develop the art of setting solid stable goals. This will help in developing self confidence. The more you achieve your goals, the more confident you will feel about yourself. For example, you are not interested in your current job, so you will set a target that you will change your job after acquiring X thousand dollars. This is a classic example of a moving target. After acquiring X thousand dollars, you would like to feel more safe and then you will increase it to X + 10, when that is achieved, you will make it X + 20. Instead set a goal that you will change your job by 1st June 2009. This is a solid stable target, 1st June 2009 happens only once. When you know that the target cannot be changed, you will put all your efforts to make it happen. When you achieve your goals as planned, your confidence jumps, thus you develop positive attitude.
